Summer Solstice

Alright so my first day of summer did not start off great (last friday).. lets just say that i hate being a girl, every month for 3-5 days and it started when i was like 12...

and of course my cramps had to leave me in the fetal position for most of the morning...

and then i started throwing up.. joy!

But other than that i had plans and i so wanted to cancel but Krys egged my on saying that working out helps ease the pain... lies all it does is take your mind odd it while working out and adds on to your muscle pain later

-_____-

But anyways... did yoga in times sq... which by the way was a very interesting experience in itself.. of i was on CP time but can you blame me with the way my morning started!

anyway i had fun (aside from throwing up a second time while i was there) was sore the whole weekend and yea.. im in it for next year!

Product Review: Aubrey Organics Protein Conditioner

Now i've heard about Aubrey Organics for the longest and i was going to buy it at one point (the honeysuckle rose) but i didnt think about the GPB (Glycogen Protein Balancing Conditioner) until it showed up in my CurlKit last month.

I'm always up for a good protein conditoner and nothing could smell worse than the JBCO Protein COnditioner (as good as that one is.. along with a few extra oils.. the smell of that mustard oil is a bit too much for my liking)

INGREDIENTS INCI: Aqua, cetyl alcohol, alcohol denat. (38b, lavender*), aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, milk protein, glycerin, myroxylon pereirae (balsam Peru) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil*, brassica campestris/aleurites fordi copolymer, citrus grandis (grapefruit) extract, salvia officinalis (sage) oil*, glycoprotein, tocopheryl acetate, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, equisetum hyemale (horsetail) extract, tussilago farfara (coltsfoot) leaf extract, urtica dioica (nettle) extract, ascorbic acid, glycine soja (soybean) oil, daucus carota sativa (carrot) root extract, beta-carotene. *certified organic

lets just say my hair loved it, my ends as usual my problem areas when i forget to do my monthly protein treatments, were in heaven.. i used this first as a prepoo (yes you can do preotein treatments as a prepoo! as proven by CurlyNikki), then followed it up the next week as a deep treatment, and i was happy with the turn out. my hair felt soft, manageable, easy to come through, had a bit of a shine to it.. i had no complaints about the scent either..

will i buy again?... most definitely!

Product Review: Nubian Heritage

Hey all....

So this one is a few weeks old (along with the next few I'm going to put up in a few)... but yea lol

So i used nubian heraitage's EVOO & Moringa leave in conditioner...  and the Indian Hemp & Tamanu masque and herbal custard

I've been using the Indian Hemp & Tamanu Masque as a prepoo for the longest and once or twice as my deep treatment after i washed. It was my frist time using the custard and leave-in since i got htem in my subscription boxes.

Unlike my other products i only used this for a week... i prepoo'd with my oils and the shea moisture anti-breakage mask & the aubrey organics protein conditioner (which i now love!), shampoo'd with the design essentials sulfate free curl cleanser (which i will definitely buy more of!) and then left the masque in for a couple hours which you know i'm lazy and it turned into an overnight deep treatment, not that my hair minds!

After washing i followed the loc method, used the leave in, followed by my oils, then the custard. left my hair in twists for a day or two, then did a twist out look....

And silly me has no pictures =(

But my hair came out really soft, my twist out was poppin!

went to remoisturize it but that didnt turn out to great.. dont think i should have done the whole detangling bit.. cause when i usually moisturize a twist out i grab sections and apply the leave, oil then moisturizer and twist but i combed it out this time and my hair did not like it at all  ::shrug::

oh well... now i know not to be extra unless its needed! but i will definitely be using these products again and trying out more of each product of the line

PTFO!

-_____-

Now I'm angry!

This fucking bastard forgot the email where i confessed my feelings for him... Point blank told him i loved him... Here i am a year and change later still fretting over it and he fucking forgot!

Yesterday i was conflicted in what i was feeling and now i'm pissed off. was it really that unimportant, that insignificant, that he could forget. I mean damn i know his memory sucks but how could he?

Even if he were to read the email now, which i specifically  told him not to, i have the strongest urge to punch him in the throat!

(alright its been a couple hours seen i wrote this.. i feel better now, still a little peeved but less violent!)

this!

or call.. or fb msg.. or email... damn you social media and internet and phone

where is the ltm?

he forget...

its pretty simple. forgetting. the act of losing a memory of an action. but seriously of all things to forget, he forgets that i told him i loved him. i dont know whether to cry or just say fuck it and forget myself. im so mixed with my feelings right now, theres also a bit of relief in his forgetting.

another weight lifted but a heavier weight gained.

he asked me if i cared and i wanted to say of course i care, i love you. but i just had to bring up the email. yea its been over a year but it was a big event, i dont go pouring out my emotions to people so rawly especially for no reason.

man, i wish i could go and re read it but i deleted it on my end (yea theres a copy somewhere) . i hope he does but doesnt read it at the same time. you know...

sigh...

in the end i got a weekend full of him even if it was just for an hour or so... i missed him, i missed the conversations, the kisses, his touch... and of course i went the extra mile and had sex with the guy but its fine cause who knows when ill see his face again...

i did tell him though that i had deleted his number, had the intention of not speaking to him past his birthday, that i tried to forget about him,us... he just said he'll keep coming back, bringing back memories and making new ones.

this guy!

stopping cold turkey didnt work, avoiding him definitely didnt work, not thinking about him really wont work...

there should be a handbook on love.

Product Review: Karen's Body Beautiful

It didnt wow me.. but it worked ok on my hair.

I have the Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In in Creamy Coco Mango; the Hair Blossom (curl refresher) in Honey Oatmeal; and the Luscious Locs Hair treatment...

I bought these items at the Let Your Hair Down Expo back in April I think.. and i still have some stuff i need to use from there

Alright the first week i used it, i was not a fan of the consistency in the mask or the leave-in im used to it being thicker and not so, runny/watery.. so some points off for that. And then the nozzle on the hair blossom was not for me either.. might as well just brought a regular spray bottle that they use on plants instead... that was not a mist nozzle at all...

In terms of my hair, being that i only used the mask as a sealer to see how my hair reacted to the products alone... it softened it left, it manageable, got some defintion out of it.. but again not a major wow factor that first week.

The second week i sealed with my whipped shea butter (i think) as a sealer and it came feeling better than before.. i'm not a huge fan, i mean i would recommend it to others but i dont think kbb is for me.. i just know when these are finished (despite how much i love the smell of the creamy coco mango!) i will not restock on these..

  (first week)
  (second week)

The Weekend!

So this weekend was highly product and very eventful!

Saturday was the launch day for the Etsy shop for Afro State of Mine (ASOM) Designs!

::clap:clap::

::whooooooooo::

ahem....

Also went out with the natural hair missus (Ms Mocha) to an event at the Jamaica Ave Performing Arts center.. did not know that the building was called that, all my years of passing by i thought it was a church!

so the event going on was a fashion show for all designers, artists, mua's that were natives of the borough of Queens... I definitely enjoyed it! i may have critiqued the walks of some of the models and the designers thinking behind some of the pieces but hey free wine and food.. no complaining there.

DJ was good had me jamming to some old school reggae and soca music.. but the dancing or vogueing that some of these people did just for the free gift bags o__0

and then sunday was Hershey Park!..

definitely enjoyed myself there.. my ass is tired from staying up late these past couple of nights and i am so going to crash!

Oh and a few product reviews coming up!
